Dog Boarding

Happy Hounds on Vacation is a fully licensed and insured boarding facility for dogs located in Blackrod. We offer a friendly and personal boarding service for one night or more, no matter how long their stay all of our guests receive all the love and attention we give to our own pets.

Home environment boarding is a great way to ensure your dog is being looked after as they would be at home and it reduces the stress of being separated from their owners. The pets that board with me become part of the family (I'm always sad to see them leave). They live and sleep in a comfortable home with a safe, secure, large sized, garden. You can be assured that whilst your on holiday your dog(s) will be too!

With 24/7 care and attention your dog(s) will have plenty of walks, healthy treats (with your consent) and lots of playtime, their happiness is our upmost priority.

Angela

My name is Angela. I live in Blackrod, on the edge of the beautiful Pennine moors, together with my Yorkshire Terrier, Ollie. For as long as I can remember I've cared for animals, in particular dogs and horses, with that came a passion to turn my love for animals into an enjoyable business. Then came Happy Hounds on Vacation, a caring dog boarding business from my comfortable and spacious home, where your dogs can have a great vacation, whilst you're having a stress-free holiday. No kennels, or crates here, just snuggly beds, lots of toys and all the love!

Testimonials

Can’t praise Angela enough, Buddy my anxious Staffy doesn't like new surroundings so I was a little anxious about leaving him for the first time with someone new. Definitely didn't need to worry because when I picked him up he was happily playing with Angela’s dog Ollie, and he wouldn’t leave. After 10 minutes of coaxing with treats he managed to get into the car, only to turn round and run back into Angela’s. I think the next time he goes I’m going to have to add an extra half an hour for the time it takes to drag him home.
